After a weekend of illnesses

People say with blogging you really have to get in there and post.  Even when you don’t feel like it, or don’t think you have anything to add.  It’s like practicing an instrument, or like exercising:  You have to do it.

So here I am.  Both children had fevers, sore throats and nasty coughs this weekend, and they thoughtfully gave me the sore throat.  This morning I was prepared to have all of last week’s running progress go right down the drain, but I didn’t feel completely terribly when I woke up, so I hit the treadmill.  I even moved up to the next run-walk level, from last week’s walk-2/run-2 to this week’s walk-2/run-3.

30 minutes total

12 minutes walking at 7.1kph / 18 minutes running at 10.5kph

Distance covered = 4.87km

Hey, that’s almost a 5k!  That’ll be a nice milestone to hit.

On the 10K front, I’ve discovered that there’s a 10K in early December at Angkor Wat.  You could see one of civilization’s great accomplishments and get a race in on the same trip.  We’ll see how this week’s serious logistics investigation goes.
